Well, not only is the new Miss USA a member of a terrorist-supporting family, it turns out she is also a champion pole dancer. It's now official. The Miss USA pageant has gone completely Paris Hilton. Thanks for thoroughly discrediting the pageant with your vanity and masogynism, Donald Trump. Incidentally, Rima Fakih is not the first Arab American chosen as Miss USA as widely misreported in the mainstream media. That honor belongs to Julie Hayek, a Lebanese-American. She doesn't count because she's a Christian. I'm surprised that I haven't heard outrage from our mainstream media about Jay Leno's joke the other night about how Fakih hopes to be removed from the "no fly" list after winning the competition.
There's a disconnect here and I'm not sure who is disconnected. Isn't the presumption that terrorists are fundamentalist Muslims? But that would certainly preclude them from supporting her participation in these activities, at the least. So, maybe terrorists aren't fundamentalist Muslims? Or, her family aren't supporting her? Or, something. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteWhat? You don't think Muslim can't be hypocrites just like Christians and Jews. Look at Souder's resignation today. Had an affair with a Christian radio broadcaster.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the 9/11 terrorists visit strip clubs the night before their attacks?
ReplyDeleteFrom all I've read, the Miss USA paegant is seen as the "Trashy" sister of the more elegant Miss America one. So I'm not really surprised by this.
ReplyDeleteIndy Student,
ReplyDeleteActually the Miss America contest has pretty much slipped to low minor league status in comparison to the Miss USA contest. The Miss America contest is so lacking viewers it wasn't picked up by the major networks and is now only shown on a cable TV network. I can't remember which one, but as I recall it's not even a popular cable networ. Whether one is trashier than the other I don't know. The Miss America contest is definitely not as popular s the Miss USA contest.
A picture is worth a hundred words. This is certainly not the image that American women need to have in the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteRe AI's comment of 8:58, that behavior could certainly be that of men who want to call attention to themselves, so that observers would remember them later. For the sheer heck of it, put on your seatbelts and helmets, and engine-search the words, who did 9/11. Have fun, intellectuals.
ReplyDeleteWho cares???? It's Miss USA. When's the last time that was relevant?
ReplyDeleteRegardless, so she's Muslim and has pole danced. Whoop dee doo! Launch a Congressional inquiry.
Don't get papercuts while grasping for straws AI.
Gary,
ReplyDeleteShe is a pretty college student having dun on a radio promotion.
Who cares if her family are terrorists. she is an American and you cannot tie her to her family.
I would not associate you to your father if he was a Nazi, so why do you associate her to terrorists.I normally don't stick up with Muslims, but she is hot!
I'm sorry Gary. I think we need more, larger and higher resolution photos of her activities in order to fully appreciate what ... ummmm ... yeah or whatever ... anyway, more photos would be good. ummm... yeah. ;-)
