A WTHR report says Indianapolis police pulled over City-County Councilor Monroe Gray on the City's westside for running a red light. The registration for the 1988 BMV driven by Gray expired three years ago. Police towed the car due to the violation. Gray retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department last year. He left a cloud hanging over the City-County Council when he served as its President because of his failure to disclose work a concrete company he owned had done on public projects on his statement of economic disclosure. A Star investigative report also could not find evidence of any work Gray performed for an $80,000 a year job he held with the fire department.
UPDATE: WRTV's Norm Cox reports that Gray paid up three years of unpaid vehicle registration fees for his BMW. Marion Co. Democratic Chairman Ed Treacy comes as close as he'll get to criticizing the ethically-challenged councilor: "I think once someone has had a problem in the past, it's incumbent on that person to probably make sure they have all the, the i's dotted and the t's crossed," said Marion County Democratic Chairman Ed Treacy. "He ought to be more introspective about in terms of not subjecting himself to further criticism."
I'm shocked that a lifelong Democrat would be driving a Beemer. How could he be a Democrat and do that to the all union voters that support the party?
ReplyDeleteOf course Andre drives, assuming he still owns it, a nice little gold colorer Japanese SUV. There's a double-whammy for you - an import AND a decidedly-ungreen vehicle style.
Evan Bayh drove a BMW with Virginia license plates when he first ran for Indiana Secretary of State.
ReplyDeleteGive the poor guy a break! He FORGOT!
ReplyDeleteWonder if he ever remembered to pay back those undeserved homestead credits on his daughter's house?
