Hancock County Auditor Hauled Away On Bribery Charges
The evidence of deep-seated corruption at all levels of government in the Hoosier state just keeps piling up. Today, Indiana State Police charged Hancock County Auditor Linda Grass accepted a $54,000 bribe from a relative in consideration for a contract she awarded to his construction firm to make repairs at the county courthouse. Grass is charged with felony counts of bribery, corrupt business influence, theft, conflict of interest and obstruction of justice according to the Indianapolis Star.
Thank God some politicians want something done.
ReplyDeleteCheers to the Hancock County Commissioners!
Maybe the State House, the Governors band of Administrators, the City County Council on Indianapolis and the Inspector General, Attorney general and the infamous Marion County Prosecutor might take some courses form the Hancock County Prosecutor on prosecuting corrupt public officials and CONTRACTORS that are blessed with self indulgence, corrupt business influence and stupidity.
God knows the State of Indiana has gotten into bed with a few of them!!!!
It's funny that our county prosecutor has spent countless hours trying to bust the poor Lawrence Township Trustee on charges he misapplied $500.00. He did nothing when former Lawrence Mayor Tom Schneider allowed his political cronies to walk off with a city utility and millions of dollars in cash and assets. He had a mountain of evidence presented to him against Carl Drummer involving much larger sums of money and did nothing. Adding insult to injury, Drummer waltzed into a high-paid lobbying job with the very law firm he had directed hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal work. What, no quid pro quo? Someone was stealing from the dead in the coroner's office, among other misdeeds and, yet, our prosecutor does nothing.
ReplyDeleteAs Leslie Sourwine said a few weeks ago in an Ogden On Politics blog that in Marion County and most of Indiana it is who you know and not what you know.
ReplyDeleteIt is also whether a "little" guy is complaining or "good old boy" millionaire is complaining. It really is heartening to see local elected officials do the right thing with a Prosecutor that apparently understands he works for the people and not a few friends.
Did "Sweet Pea" get the concrete contract in Hancock County???
ReplyDeleteGary, you said it all in 6:06!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment about our own 'Corrupt Carl B.'
Those charges would have never been filed by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
ReplyDeleteI am ashamed to admit I voted for Carl Brizzi. To me, at the time, he seemed like the lesser evil.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Melina Kennedy would have been better.
I'm pretty sure he removed me from his facebook page because I posted a link there to the story Paul Ogden wrote about Timothy Treacy sitting in Marion county jail without a trial. There were comments on the story which pointed a finger at Brizzi for not doing anything about the charges or ensuring this citizen got his right to a speedy trial.
HFFT,
ReplyDeleteThe trouble is both parties look the other way when it comes to white collar crime. I'm not sure electing Melina Kennedy over Brizzi would have made a difference. The trouble is the corrupt political system in Indy that has both major parties swallowed up. Kennedy is very tied into the corrupt political system.
Linda Grass should contact Carl Brizzi and Monroe( SweetPea )Gray and ask them to get her out of this mess. I'm sure those two Thugs have suggestions.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she can bribe the Ghetto Mafia to bail her out.
Not that it matters but is this thieving auditor a Dem or a Republican??
ReplyDeleteSucka
