Palin Draws Record Crowd In Central Florida Visit

The buzz of central Florida today is Gov. Sarah Palin's political rally for the McCain-Palin ticket at The Villages. Crowd estimates ranged from 25,000 to 60,000. "Whatever the total, it was huge, and hundreds sweated for hours under a brutal Florida sun that cooked The Villages' downtown to a toasty 90 degrees," reports the Orlando Sentinel-News. Recent polls show McCain holding a steady lead here. The only southern state that Obama has a realistic chance of winning is Virginia, which remains very close. Virginia has trended more Democratic in recent years because of the rapidly growing number of federal employees populating the Virginia suburbs outside of D.C.
