Biden's "No Coal Plants" Proclamation
Four of the hotly-contested states in this year's presidential campaign are major coal producing states, including Colorado, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Asked by an attendee at a political rally in Ohio about his view of clean coal technology, Biden emphatically declared, "No coal plants here in America." He basically indicated that clean coal technology should be utilized in China where they are building a lot of coal plants, but the technology was not needed here because we're not going to build any here in the United States due to global warming concerns. Are there enough coal miners left in Indiana for this issue to make much of a difference? Recent statistics indicate Indiana employs about 2,500 coal mining jobs.
