Nearly 500 well-wishers gathered with close friends and family in front of the Indianapolis home of Rep. Julia Carson (D) tonight holding candles and sharing in prayer. Clergy representing a cross-section of religious denominations participated in tonight's nearly hour-long prayer vigil. A few local politicians were sprinkled throughout the crowd. The past as represented by Carson's predecessor, former Rep. Andy Jacobs (D), and the future as represented by her grandson, Andre Carson, addressed the crowd.
Thank you...
ReplyDeleteYour welcome, Wilson. It was a very inspiring evening for the people in attendance.
ReplyDeletedespite the hate spewed by some people on the blogs, these pictues say it all. We love you, Julia.
ReplyDeleteThats one thing I appreciate about your blog, Gary-the ability to look at an issue in a non-partisan way when it is appropriate, such as in the case of Cong. Carson. It's much more refreshing than some of the bilge you see on blogs that reflect an extreme Left or Right ideology
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gary. This shows alot of class. How about taking one more step and including a link to www.accidentalmayor.com, a very well-written and organized site. Sure, its admittedly partisan, but it is much more in the TDW style than bart lies or Indy U.
ReplyDeleteby any chance, was Bart Peterson there? Just curious to know how he really feels about her.
ReplyDeleteI did not see Mayor Peterson there. I saw Mike Rodman, Kenneth Ackles, Dane Mahern, Ron Gibson and Ed Treacy. I'm sure there were others there as well, but that's all I saw.
ReplyDeleteI also saw David Orentlicher with his family.
ReplyDeleteWhy Bart Peterson didn't show? As the state's most prominent democrat, this seems disrespectful on the surface.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR THE PHOTO MEMORIES GARY. YOU ARE A CLASS ACT.
Get a grip 12.31.11 - not even taken office and your ilk are attempting to have the guy impeached. What are you doing coming in here to spam your blog?
ReplyDelete"TDW style than bart lies or Indy U."
It may have pretty fluff but Indiana State Democrat Party Blog (aka TDW) is still a left-wing hate site.
Uh, Sir Hailstone, for you to call TDW a "left-wing hate site" has got to be the ultimate rock thrown from a "glass house" only from the other side of the spectrum!
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteThe Republican voters said loudly and clearly that they didn't care for your style of hatred when they didn't even allow you past the Republican party primary. Had you not demonstrated such vile feelings toward gays, perhaps you would have made it to the general election. Food for thought.
The story in the Star today notes that U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly was also in attendance.
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor was there.
ReplyDeleteFox 59 News reported the crowd size to be 200.
ReplyDeleteThe mayor forewent a prior commitment with his college daughter to attend this ceremony.
ReplyDeleteHail--you really need to get a life. TDW is a "left wing hate site" ?
You need to get out more.

Both the mayor and the mayor-elect were in attendance.
ReplyDeleteIf Ballard and Peterson were there, they kept a pretty low profile. I arrived at 6:15 and stayed until it was over. I scanned the crowd frequently and never saw either one of them.
ReplyDelete"despite the hate spewed by some people on the blogs, these pictues say it all. We love you, Julia."
ReplyDeleteSome may, others realize how wrong she has behaved or has been manipulated to act by her handlers. That will not be missed in this household.
the mayor came before the ceremony to wish Congresswoman Carson well...and slipped out before the masses of people came.
ReplyDeleteDo you know of anyone who has video of the speakers at the vigil?
