- Tom John, Chairman, Marion County Republican Party
- Fred Klipsch, CEO, Klipsch Audio Technologies
- Lisa Kobe, Government Relations Manager, Duke Energy
- Joe Loftus, Partner, Barnes and Thornburg
- P.E. MacAllister, Chairman of the Board, MacAllister Machinery
- James Merritt, State Senator District 31
- Luke Messer, Partner, Ice Miller
- Issac Randolph, City-County Councilor District One
- Debra Taylor, media specialist, Ballard for Mayor
- Robert Turner, former Marion County Public Safety Director
- Greg Wilson, small business owner
- Melissa Proffitt Reese, Partner, Ice Miller
- Darla Williams, attorney at law
Ms. Proffitt Reese will chair the Personnel Committee for the transition. Ms. Williams will act as the liaison between the transition team and Mayor Bart Peterson's office.
Putting a venomously partisan blogger with absolutely no experience in government like Darla Y Williams in charge of liaison with Peterson's office? Sheer madness!!!
ReplyDeleteGary, This is just wrong. Most of those people on that list worked against Ballard's election. It only take 48 hours in this town for a new mayor to get co-opted by the people who screw over all the rest of us?
ReplyDeleteYou forgot to mention, Wilson, Darla's disastrous work handling Kenneth Ackles transition.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect to Darla Williams, Wilson, for once I must agree with you. She is not the person to serve this role at all. Anon. 7:31, your point on her work on the Ackles transition is important. I've spoken to former members of Dr. John McGoff's staff. Darla blocked meetings between Dr. McGoff and Dr. Ackles I'm told. The transition was a complete disaster. She does not have the skills to deal with any of these people Peterson will appoint to work on the transition. Just a few years ago she was gladly cozying up to the Peterson folks in hopes of getting contracts for legal work based on her status as a minority. Something went wrong and she turned on all of them in a very ugly way. Her downright hatred of many of them has been spoken by her on too many occasions. Darla is a talented lawyer with other noble skills, but serving as a liason to the Peterson administration is one she is not in the least bit suited to doing. I'm sorry if you are offended Darla, but I would say the same thing to your face. It sends a horrible message to the Peterson administration. This does not invite a smooth transition.
ReplyDeleteDebra Taylor is the speech expert from Carmel who made that peculiar $40,000 in-kind contribution to Ballard. That made her the largest reported donor to his campaign...
ReplyDeleteThere you go again wilson flapping you jaws with no truth. Deb is a hard working individual just like the rest of his volunteers and she doesn't even have that kind of funds. you are such an idiot
ReplyDeleteIke Randolph is the only "outsider" on this list, and he's ethically-challenged.
ReplyDeleteHe accepted a huge ($5,000) 2003 campaign donation from Kite Development, then refused to recuse on Kite zoning votes. It was a simple choice, and he decided to cast a vote for a heavy contributor. I can tell you--$5,000 is a hefty contribution to a council candidate.
Watch for Ike to get a plum job in the new administration. And we'll never hear the end of his ingratiating self-promotion. Ugh.
If I were a loyal populist who was with Ballard from the start, I'd be positively ashamed of this list.
I expected more, but...these corporate insiders just can't stand the thought of a populist mayor beholden to no one.
7:30 is 1000% right.
And Wilson, government experience is not the only precursor for service in city government.
In fact, if it means career public service hacks need representation, I say leave 'em out.
Although Gary agrees with you here--why do you so constantly harp on Darla Williams? No one can be that evil.
I've never met her and already I'm sympathetic to her.
Gary, I agree. Anon 814 I have worked with Darla, for what I thought was a common goal, only to have her turn her venomous tongue on me. She is an opportunist first and foremost. I would tell you to your face Darla but all you would do is shout me down.
ReplyDeleteBallard, ditch her and cut your losses now.
I was very bothered by Darla's questioning of Mayor Peterson at the tax forum which was recorded on YouTube where she seemed to be challenging his minority contracting numbers and insisting in meeting certain percentages in the awarding of contracts. She seemed to imply she believed in quotas. Most of the Republicans I know disfavor quotas. It inevitably leads to corruption everywhere it is implemented. Monroe Gray and his concrete company was the best example you could have of that this year.
ReplyDeleteat 11:40am this morning, the final precinct was reported so the final numbers are:
ReplyDeleteINDIANAPOLIS CITY MAYOR
(WITH 914 OF 914 PRECINCTS COUNTED)
BART PETERSON (DEM) 77,755 47.24
GREG BALLARD (REP) 83,008 50.43
FRED PETERSON (LIB) 3,780 2.30
WRITE-IN. . 53 .03
Total . . . . . . . . . 164,596
I am sure Darla is a very talented attorney. Hell, I would probably want her to be fighting my battles, but she lacks people skills.
ReplyDeleteI have seen with my own two eyes her put down peoples ideas, and specifically any one different from hers. My participation in supporting causes or people is determined by whether or not Darla is going to be a part of it. Many I worked with have said the same thing. I will not be treated as less than a human being when I do not treat people that way myself.

It appears that most of his executive committee did not donate to him or lift a finger to help him....he seems to already be turning his back on those who actually supported him.
ReplyDeleteWell I think a good leader would want to surround themselves with very talented people. They realize that success is determined by those around you.
ReplyDeleteThe mistake in this list is Darla. In this life you have to decide if you will be the warrior or peace maker, but you can't be both, so you better be happy with what you pick because that is what you are going to be. Darla is a warrior, which is fine, but that alone means she is not qualified to fill the role she was given.
Already without him taking office, people are starting to guess what wrongs he will be doing.
ReplyDeleteLets give the man a chance before we pronounce him dead.
Anyone on that list the most deserving is Greg Wilson. He supported Mayor-elect Greg Ballard when his list supporters only included people such as myself and Gary.
ReplyDeleteI don't know half the people on that list. McAlister is a long time donor to the party, along with Fred Klipsch.
Adding to what 7:30 PM said, its funny a couple individuals who seemed to throw the Mayor-elect under the bus are now at the table.
Oh well.
Hailstone is right. I have met Greg Wilson. He is a stand up guy! I think he will bring an excellent and refreshing perspective to the transition.
ReplyDelete"There you go again wilson flapping you jaws with no truth. Deb is a hard working individual just like the rest of his volunteers and she doesn't even have that kind of funds. you are such an idiot"
ReplyDeleteIt was listed "in kind". She "billed" for her time and the campaign reported it as a contribution. The difference in that an doing what typical volunteers do I have no idea.
We have the chance to build Indy into the city it can be.
ReplyDeleteNot what a few greedy politicains tried to turn in into.
Democrates and Rebublicans should come together and make sure that the people that we elected keeps the dream alive. The people stepped up and said we have had enough.
Let us not forget that and hold them to what we want. As Churchhill once said "for those that forget the past are doomed to repeat it"
It was George Santayana (gay, btw) who said that line, not Churchill...
ReplyDeleteThe new boss is same as the old boss.
ReplyDeleteWhere were the names of all these people on Ballard's first finance report? Some were, some weren't.
When Ballard made his remarks about Republican Country Club politics being a thing of the past I honest to god thought he meant it. Outside of a couple of names on this "transition team" you will find most names are on the social registry with all belonging to the "right club".
And Darla Williams? I only know from talking to her that she needs the money in a real bad way. Yes, she has her good points and he bad points but her main hangup is special contracts for minority groups. Sorry, but Ballard chosing her as his go between makes as much sense as a new Democratic mayor using Jen Wagner.
With Brizzi in a couple of others on this team I would also say that black organized crime running the illegal numbers racket will find they can conduct business as usual.
Some of us knew that this is how the "real" Ballard team whould end up. We wanted to belive otherwise. Indianapolis is a very very closed town and the movers and shakers still have the money and power.
My soul is not for sale to anyone at any price. It appears some souls are cheaper than others.
Darla's being sued by a former employee of her failed downtown law office for unpaid back wages...
ReplyDeleteShut up Wilson. Everybody here knows how you hate her so you've "got no nickel in that dime". I guarantee you have NEVER worked beside her. She is everything that is said about her here, so just shut up and enjoy it because that is exactly what you want to see.
ReplyDelete9:24, unfortunately Wilson is right. Darla is in a serious cash crisis. Even educated people get caught in zero down adjustable rate mortgages. Take that on top of bad cash flow then it gets much worse.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to figure out precisely what she did during the campaign that earned her this job.
Let's not forget that this is a TRANSITION team. It's not like these people were all just appointed to be deputy mayors for the next four years. Undoubtedly some of these names may end up with jobs in the administration, but there is no guarantee of even that. Why don't we all wait until we see who the new mayor appoints to the full-time positions on his staff before we start crucifying the man. If some of these people are as bad as some of you suggest then I have faith that the former marine will spot them pretty quickly and their input will be limited and their tenure brief. One of the disadvantages of being a newcomer to politics without a team already in place is that you have to rely on some of the "regulars", at least for a little while until you can sort things our for yourself. I, for one, believe Mr. Ballard when he says he will choose the best people for the job when it comes time to put a staff together. But let's wait and see who that is since, after all, that is far more important than some temporary transition team that will be long gone in two months.
ReplyDelete949, just want to make sure Ballard sees her for what she is NOW before she drags him down, because she would. She may 'sound' all butter would melt in her mouth right now, but she can't keep that facade up for very long. People are what they are, they don't change.
ReplyDeleteSo you don't give the Mayor-elect 5 minutes before you start nit-picking? Come on, people. You elected him because you trust him. Don't question every freaking decision he makes. He's the one who earned 88,000 votes, not you.Give him a break. Let him govern. He has the responsibility now to run one of America's largest cities. The campaign's over.
ReplyDeleteAnd Wilson, zip it. Nobody cares what you think.
I'm sorry but I can't contain myself. The idea that anyone at Ice Miller has anything to do with this administration is sickening me to the core. This is the law firm which bred Bart Peterson. This is the law firm which tried to give us Louis Mahern and failed. This is the firm which assisted crooks out in Lawrence in walking off with a public asset and rewarding them with millions. This is the law firm which has been calling the shots at the Indianapolis Airport Authority and Ft. Harrison Reuse Authority to serve their own selfish needs at the expense of taxpayers. This list goes on and on. They did everything damn thing they could to stop Greg Ballard from winning and not one but 3 of them have a seat at the table. Yes, I'm including Susan Brookes because we all know she is their pawn as well.
ReplyDeleteSo what does a "TRANSITION TEAM" do ?
ReplyDeleteI googled other city races and it seems they either help pick people to fill spots in the new administration and or help identify stuff like the First 100 days priorities.
Denver new mayor in 2003 had "originally a diverse group of over 450 advisors that worked to facilitate the Mayor’s transition into office in the summer of 2003."
They also had "five community sessions were formatted to allow participants to discuss and express their priorities for Denver city government. Polling exercises were then conducted to choose the top 10 priorities which were further prioritized through a budget allocation process. "
In 2005 "Los Angeles Mayor-elect Antonio Villaraigosa's transition team of 81 business, artistic, religious and civic leaders to serve as a "recruitment army" to build his administration."
Bob Hertzberg was named chairman of the transition team. He was also "was Mr. Villaraigosa's opponent in the mayoral race."
In 2005 "Buffalo Mayor-elect Byron Brown today introduced the Executive Committee members of his Mayoral Transition Team, which will oversee the review of candidates for the new administration's cabinet-level positions." The Transition Team will review the resumes of applicants for sixteen Cabinet-level positions. The remaining 38 exempt management positions will be posted on Mayor-elect Brown's website and will be reviewed by the Mayor-elect's staff.
-----
So hopefully most of these people are more of a guide than ending up full filling top spots.
I like others have had some rough dealings with Darla. Lets hope she can keep things in check.
Gary, unusually, you're being completely unreasonable and politically unrealistic and naive. If Ballard is going to be successful, he is wise enough to know he has to engage these people. He isn't beholden to them for his election, unlike almost every other elected official, so he can act independenly, but it would be arrogant to ignore them. You are a true conservative, so I assume you admire Edmund Burke, who said, "Politics is the art of the possible." You're beginning to sound like an ideologue. The next step from unrealistic ideologue is kook. Don't become a kook. You're way too smart for that.
ReplyDeleteGary and 1112 make excellent points. Maybe the saying "Keep your friends close and enemies closer" explains it all.
ReplyDeleteI think Greg has the knowledge to figure it out.
But Darla is a loose cannon. Beware. Mark my words, on this day, on this blog, she will step in it royaly.
anon 11:12 said, "Gary, unusually, you're being completely unreasonable and politically unrealistic and naive. If Ballard is going to be successful, he is wise enough to know he has to engage these people."
ReplyDeleteA couple of months ago, Greg stopped me and told me that he appreciated what I was doing on my blog with regards to the mayor's race. Greg specifically told me that he liked me because I kept him honest. I'm not trying to hurt Greg in the least bit. I care more about the success of his administration than anyone on that list and everyone who follows my blog knows that to be a fact. I've been in politics for many years. I know how it works. I can tell you there are folks at Bingham McHale who are quaking in their boots at that list out of fear they'll be cut out as legal counsel for the Capital Improvement Board. The folks at Baker & Daniels are even more worried. I know how the game is played. You get your people on that transition to make sure the right people get placed in the right jobs to protect your contracts. That's the only reason most of those people want on the transition team. Greg will be manipulated by these folks to no end. All the information being provided to him is being filtered through these people. I'm not over-reacting. The revolution is over before it ever began--unless this serves as a wake-up call to Greg that he is being ill-advised in the people he has first chosen to surround himself. His victory he said was won by the grassroots folks. There is not a single grassroots person on that list.
"Greg will be manipulated by these folks to no end."
ReplyDeleteGary, if you have that little confidence in him, why in God's name did you so passionately advocate for his election?? He clearly, in you opinion, doesn't have the strength of character for such a significant responsibility.
Will Darla explain why Greg Hahn tossed her out on her ass?
ReplyDeleteGary, Speaking as a member of one of those other law firms, I'm pissed big time about Ice Miller getting a seat--let alone this big of a seat at the table. The Indy legal community is shaking their heads. We're assuming this means Tom John has no influence with Ballard at this point.
ReplyDeleteDon't know much about politics but I'm with Mayor Ballard and support his team just as I did on November 5th.
ReplyDeleteWhen did Luke Messer become an Indianapolis resident?
ReplyDeleteI want you to succeed too Greg, but Darla Williams, please. She and her pal Alfie Ballew stirred up all the problems in the coroner's office which just keep getting worse by the day I'm told. If she does for Ballard what she did for Ackles, look out folks, it's going to be a wild ride down.
ReplyDeleteDarla is a big fan of Sherron Franklin. It looks like she was disappointed at her loss. I guess she wasn't so interested in a Republican-controlled council. Here she sheds tears over Franklin's loss to a Republican:
ReplyDeleteTonight I shed a few tears as I recall what Sherron Franklin has had to endure during her 4 year tenure with the most dysfuntional caucus ever imaginable, and what other retaliation she may be facing in her near future.
Sherron and I attended Arlington High School in the late 70's and early 80's, we share similar professional backgrounds. Backgrounds that collide with many of the custom and practices demanded by a machine controlled caucus--you either go along or get gone.
Well, tonight, inside a huge 26ftx20ft DPW - City dumpster, along with "mountains" of Republican only signs of Mayoral Candidate Greg Ballard and Kent Smith for At-Large, lay dozens of Sherron Franklin signs--the only democrat with the courage to nominate Steve Talley to the presidency to oust Rozelle Boyd for his lack of civility, and the "only" democrat sign confiscated with EVERY republican sign the dpw workers could find.
The democrats vowed they would get her. Maybe this is their way? Afterall, how do you GET a law enforcement officer?
I hope some day Sherron will serve on a council that functions as a council should function. I know this has been very challenging and not the most fullfilling experience; maybe this time we'll vote in council-members who respect every councilmembers duty to their district and right to vote in the best interest of their constitutents, without retaliation, coercion or undue pressure.
Thank you Sherron for co-sponsoring proposal 2006-097 on behalf of ex-offenders along with Republican Council-member Ike Randolph. Though your caucus did not believe this to be a worthy cause, I'm hopeful should you be re-elected, that re-integrating ex-offenders successfully back into society will become more of a priority for our city and that you'll re-introduce the proprosal on behalf of your constitutents to a more receptive council.
Thank you also for re-introducing the proposal to Investigate Monroe Gray.
Of all democrats you deserve to remain on our council
God you people are vipers!
ReplyDeleteI am happy that two of our activists, Greg & Darla are on the transition team.
I have every confidence that Darla will use her education and experience for the betterment of our community.
I know for a fact that she is willing to talk in any open forum. She wants progress and opportunity for all people in our city.
Gary, it was not long ago that you were praising her exposure of the inconsistency in numbers reporting of MBE/WBE contracts.
Can we all just chill and then react, please?
Gary and others:
ReplyDeleteYou may be interested in reading the IBJ's interview with Ballard:
http://www.ibj.com/html/detail_page.asp?content=7493
"IBJ: Any plans particularly for the Capital Improvement Board? Changes to its management or scope?
Ballard: Not at this time.
IBJ: Will you be planning a bid for the 2012 Super Bowl?
Ballard: I anticipate that, yes."
Is anything really going to be different?
Wilson. Can't you just accept the fact that your boy lost?
ReplyDelete730 is right. Most of those people worked AGAINST Ballard. He is setting himself up for failure.
It was George Santayana (gay, btw) who said that line, not Churchill...
Wilson, why do you always throw in that someone is gay? Does that make them a better or worse person?
NO!
Does it make them more popular?(except with you) NO
AI deletes comments point out that some people have been going "both ways" , but allows you to point out that someone is gay.
Is that a FACT or just wishful thinking on your part??
Scott Keller, Jackie Nytes, Joanne Sanders.. I think they are all homosexual, but now that I've stated that, Gary Welsh will delete this comment.
Melyssa, The point I made on Darla's exchange with Mayor Peterson at a tax forum--laying aside the fact that she used a forum devoted to finding a solution to the tax problem to complain about minorities not being treated fairly in the awarding of minority contracts--was that Peterson was not speaking truthfully. She pointed out his administration claimed a 22% achievement, which he denied, and she produced evidence which showed otherwise. I didn't endorse her complaint about minority contracts in general. In the end, Melyssa, what I think about Darla's suitability for this role is irrelevant. I can assure you the other people on the transition team, save Greg Wilson and Ike, will take care of Darla in their own way in very short order.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't thought this post would turn into a forum on Sherron Franklin, among other things, but...here goes: Reality check.
ReplyDeleteSherron did some good things. But I have direct evidence that she's a stark raving lunatic. The mayor and his folks knew it, and some of them witnessed an exchange she had with another council member...Sherron thought it was private...which was, let's just say chartibly, bipolar. She went off on the fellow Councillor for a reason which was wrongly concluded.
And you're wrong about her 2003 victory. She won as part of the throw-them-out philosophy in Lawrence, where many of her precincts lie. Lawrence always was, and still is, largely Republican. This year they returned to their base.
I'm one voter who was sick to death of the contradictory messages she sent. She also regularly butchered the English language, but then, she's not alone there. The Peterson folks were encouraged by many of we Democraic precinct workers to dump Sherron in the primary. They concluded--rightly--that the race was likely not winnable anyway, and, given Sherron's wild mood swings and unpredictable goofy behavior, they couldn't afford to have her in the caucus for 10 months if they opposed her at February slating.
She'd have been hell on wheels.
Good riddance, Sherron. We have enough public safety officers on the council. Too many, in fact. Good riddance Ron, too...if you slap a police officer, the public bitch slaps you. And GREAT riddance King Ro. That one's kinda like the Clintons--a twofer in the opposite direction--we booted King, and his wife will go, too. The city's zoning ordinances are safe again.
Here's a little-observed fact: Democrats actually picked up one district council seat Tuesday--they went from 11 to 12. The at-large victory of Joanne took us to 13, and the only difference is, we're missing the other three at-larges.
It was also time for Rozelle to go.
Nice guy, lousy president, served past his prime.
I couldn't be more pleased to see that Susan Brooks is on the list. Also I am not at all surprised by that.
ReplyDeleteGary you clearly do not know her at the same level that someone who has worked with her does.
As Deputy Mayor she was responsible for empowering many inner-city neighbors to stand up for themselves and take back their streets from the thugs.
As US Attorney she continued to help neighborhoods fight crime and is recognized as a real hero.
Susan Brooks is very smart, well spoken, and highly competent. She is not capable of being a pawn to anyone, I know this to be a fact.
Melyssa put down the pipe and wave the smoke from in front of your eyes.
ReplyDeleteJust because you have never experienced Darla's hatred doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
anon 7:50, as U.S. Attorney, Susan Brooks ignored public corruption unless it involved a low-level governmeent employee who was dispensible. Ask her why she wouldn't prosecute in the case of the Lawrence water utility. Ask her why the investigation of the Perry Township Constable didn't move forward until after she left office. Ask her why she ignored corruption in Indianapolis city government and the Center Township Trustee's office. Should I continue on?
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with Melyssa's comments.
ReplyDeleteThere are bound to be missteps but Greg and those of us who supported him, didn't work so hard all these months to win an election and then fail. I believe in this man and my fellow grassrooters...we are definitely taking this city (and state) forward in a new and better direction!
These are early days. Let's give this a little bit of time and offer wise, thoughtful, counsel...not venomous criticism.
The list contains some very hard and honest workers from Ballard's team: Ike, Greg Wilson, Deb Taylor, Jim Merritt was his campaign chairman!
ReplyDeleteANON 6:53 is 100% correct. Sherron Franklin is a loose cannon who should never have served on the council as she was elected by accident. Besides her horrible grammar, she swears like a sailor and her late night phone calls are unending rants and raves and sometimes incoherent. She liked to threaten to switch parties to bully the Democrat caucus and I wish she had. The republicans deserve another nut case like her. We gave them Jocelyn, Darla and I would have thrown in Sherron. The good voters took care of that problem though.
ReplyDelete1) For starters, since Gary has decided not to inform those readers of that the negative comments are coming from some weird homeless looking guy that started stalking Eric Dickerson and I during the Dickerson campaign, Wilson Allen., who works for Bart Peterson and Julia Carson's employee in center township stalks, dives into dumpsters and takes pictures of those to harrass on behalf of the Ghetto Mafia. He uses bits of information he's learned from stealing mail, stalking and snooping and fills in "plausible lies" to slander candidate and their workers. Most blogs have banned him but I see you’re still torturing your readers by allowing him to dirty up blog with lies. Needless to say, his comments have no merit and I continue to ignore him as most do.
ReplyDeleteBut, Wilson is just doing his job, he works with Julia, Bart, Tony Duncan and Carl Drummer, so I don’t’ expect much from him ethically. . Bart & Co. are upset because they'll have to leave city hall and they don't have someone “friendly” to bribe on the Ballard team -- so for the next few days, each person will be attacked, I think I’m the sixth to be attacked since it rolled out today, to cause dissension within the team and possibly get someone they can convince or hoodwink into going against the best interest of the city, our Mayor-Elect or the people. Won’t happen.
Wilson Allen, while stalking me one day, learned that I moved my office...and he was refused entrance to the building by security due to his name appearing on the no-trepass list. So, he makes up stories that I’m kicked out and struggling financially. Wrong station, wrong channel.. I’ll speak with Attorney Greg Hahn tomorrow Wilson and I will provide him with this link so he can see what you’ve been saying about him and his firm. He’s NOT going to appreciate it at all because we are “very good friends” and you are lying on him and his law firm on the internet. He’d never kick me out of his office, nor his home where I’ve spent Christmas’s and other holidays.
2) Gary’s comments today are inconsistent with the comments he's made about my performance over the past 1 1/2 years. The only difference today is the green-eyed monster saw my name on the Ballard transition team and he wanted it for his "friend". Therefore his comments lack credibility. But I suspect he has the same job to do for someone.
It's interesting when a MAN can't muster the gumption to get in the ring, yet criticizes a women's performance when she DOES have the courage. Its even worse when the man is constantly "complaining" online about the racketeering and the ghetto mafia, yet sit's on the sidelines paralyzed with fear, only able to write about it on a blog.
Gary, since you detest the ghetto mafia as much as we do, and disapprove of "my" performance, how would you like to complete the job. I can arrange a meeting with YOU and the ghetto mafia IN PERSON. Maybe you can do better. How about giving us an opportunity to see YOU stand up to Bart, How about Tony Duncan or Carl Drummer, Sheriff Anderson, Julia Carson, anybody!!!!! How about, big shot?
I didn't think so!!!! Which is exactly why the corruption has grown so big in Indianapolis, A lot of Big mouths- but No courage.
Gary, when I returned to this city 7 years ago, and despite all YOUR on-line complaining, you hadn't made a dent in the ghetto mafia. I don't care if you don't like my technique-at least I did SOMETHING and don't just hide behind a computer watching the ladies fight the mob.
3) Sherron Franklin and I attended high school together and I, unlike you and others, aren't brainwashed enough to think that a party affilitation or the group one belongs too determines my relationships, just as I'm sure you Gary won't disciminate against me because I belong to a group that YOU don't belong, African-Americans?[and]
I have the courage to stand up, in person, against the powerful people you fear.
4) Finally, I'm glad your regular readers acknowledge how you praised me before, prior to Ballard and this transition, and its shows your character. I thought you had integrity!
IT’S JUST AMAZING, YOU NEVER HAVE ONE NEGATIVE THING TO AGAINST ME AT ALL, ALL PRAISE, until this transitions. I didn’t think YOU were a flake.
Gary, when you get courage to stand up, in person, maybe someone will allow you on their team, in the interim, if you continue to spew inconsistent remarks about your readers…you’ll lose you’ll lose them because they won’t trust you….
5) CORONER’S OFFICE: Again, bits and pieces Wilson learned. I knew no one at the Coronors office except Dr. Ackles. Alfie Bellow was one of the employee who was interviewed and encouraged to stay as well as the Chief deputy, who I felt was doing an exceptional job and wanted to stay with the Office, just like ALL the employees were encouraged to stay and most did. So, there would be NO employee making such statements on this blog about me because all were intact when I disengaged, I insisted on it due to the nature of the coroner’s office and Ackles having NO experience. So, the transition was complete and smooth when I left and the blogger claiming to be a coroner employee is not from the coroner’s office. The controversies started brewing way after the transition were completed., so once again what you say has no merit.
6) As for Wilson alleging Attorney Greg Hahn kicked me out, I’m contacting Greg this morning. Greg Hahn and his wife happens to be a good friends of mine and I know he’ll be infuriated to know Wilson is spreading malicious lies that his law firm kicked attorney Darla Williams out of his office. For those who know me, know that I've maintained 2 downtown offices, plus a home office, for years and still do, but Wilson is on the trespasss list.
7) Finally Gary, I guess all black women are loose cannon? I never thought I'd say this, but you are a KOOK...You know all the anoymous quotes about me are from the same ip address...Wilson Allen.
Well, your plan will not work!
anon 8:30, can you clarify if you are Darla Williams? You speak in her words but left the comment as anonymous.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I defended Darla against Wilson's attacks on her for being a deadbeat because she didn't pay her taxes on time. And yes, I pointed up the hypocrisy of the charge since he and many of political leaders he supported were also delinquent in the payment of their property taxes at the same time.
ReplyDelete"you are lying on him and his law firm on the internet."
ReplyDelete"where I’ve spent Christmas’s"
"sit's on the sidelines"
"Coronors office"
"Greg Hahn and his wife happens to be a good friends of mine"
It's bad enough that some kids graduate from high school unable to properly use English. It's tragic when someone can graduate from law school that way.
Anon 830 - let me say very clearly and slowly, the anonymous comments about Darla are NOT written by Wilson Allen.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Wilson, but being good and quiet right now and letting us do what we need to do which is speak our truth!
"...started stalking Eric Dickerson and I..."
ReplyDeleteYeah, 830 anon is Darla.
Hey Darla, treat people like sh*t and payback is a bitch.
Ummm...this spring I stopped by Darla's failed office location downtown and without identifying myself casually asked which floor Williams law firm was on. The security guard said she'd moved out months ago and was someplace up on College Avenue. How could she as a former tenant place me on a no-contact list? I didnt identify myself so how would the guard even know who I was?
ReplyDeleteOnce again Darla flat out lies. I've never made any remarks whatsoever about Greg Hahn and his successful law firm.
We have just witnessed by Darla the exact reasons Greg Ballard made an extremely poor choice in making her ambassador to the outgoing Administration. She's totally lacking in diplomacy and honesty!
By the way Darla: have you paid your ex-employee her back wages yet?
Jesus H. Christ. If that is Darla, her unprofessional rants alone should make Ballard think twice.
ReplyDeleteWill the real Darla Williams please step forward? Oh, she did, anon 830. Thank you, Darla, for proving our point.
ReplyDeleteGary, welcome to the hell I lived. You will now experience the full hatred of Darla Williams.
ReplyDeleteI have also felt the wrath of Darla Williams. Let me tell you it is not pretty. The people around us at the time apologized to me for her actions because they also thought she was a b#t&h.
ReplyDeleteGary, we recognize your attempts to scale this down to one (1) black on the team and to cause dissention among us which won't work, that Willie Lynch trick is old, we don't fall for that in 2007.
ReplyDeleteThe day of the "one black republican sitting at the big table" is gone with the Ballard administration, and each black has the "right" to have their own unique personalities, just like white people have the right to have their own unique personalities. We are not "slaves" that you are selecting over to find the one whom you deem suitable to your tastes. Though "your" mind may be conditioned that way, we dont' accept it and it shows how ignorant you really are.
We've already experienced racism, and are prepared to deal with attacks from jealous blacks and whites racist, though I never thought it would be you Gary from Advance Indiana.
We are a tight, educated group of blacks and when you attack one on our team you are attacking us all...we don't fall for the conquer and divide and we don't believe in tokenism. So the day of the one black republican is gone!
We are a team and thats why we are on the winning team and you are on the losing team and attacking black people!
So, yes everyone knows Darla is not liked by some because she fought the ghetto mafia, Wilson employers and Bart Peterson.
Yes, everyone knows that Darla is not liked by creeps that want to talk to her client without a lawyer present.
So what, Dr.McGoff doesn't have a right to talk to Darlas client if thats the arrangement she has with her client. You, Gary, a lawyer to fan bullshit like this is disgraceful as a lawyer.
Though I think Gary's problem is that its okay for blacks to admonish blacks but not whites.
We never did anything to you!
Good luck to your blog.
Gary, we recognize your attempts to scale this down to one (1) black on the team and to cause dissention among us which won't work, that Willie Lynch trick is old, we don't fall for that in 2007.
ReplyDeleteWow! The new mayor isn't even sworn in yet and he already has his own Aaron Haith.
Is John Lewis and Wilkins the Rose Law Firm? Great.
ReplyDeleteAnon 928, I suspect I know who you are, and that is ok. I have no doubt Darla knows who I am, and that is ok too.
ReplyDeleteTo call me a racist, unfortunately, is very low. I am sure Greg Ballard reads this blog and hopefully he will tell his "TEAM", which you are obviously a member of, to stop this nonsense now.
I personally, do not have a problem with you. But you cannot treat people badly, as Darla has done, and not think that it won't come back to bite you in the ass.
I speak the truth.
Ike, honest? PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteHe didn't run again because he thought the GOP would lose big-time, AND because Dems had a file on him an inch thick they'd use. Personal missteps aside, he took money from a zoning case plaintiff, and then voted for that petitioner's cases.
He's an ethically-challenged homophobic gasbag.
Gary we all have opinions. I for one think that we should give Greg Ballard the opportunity to do his job.
ReplyDeleteIf one perceives that Darla has made mistakes in the past then that is an opinion.
Darla has done some legal work for family members and me. On every occasion she has performed admirably, I can’t say that about every attorney that I have hired over the years.
She is very strong willed and passionate about her work, that can't be bad. I'm happy to see her on the team. Lets give Ballard and Darla a chance, Darla knows where the bones are buried and she won’t buckle under pressure from the Peterson team.
Wilson don’t waste your time digging. Darla has never defended me.
"Ummm...this spring I stopped by Darla's failed office location downtown and without identifying myself casually asked which floor Williams law firm was on. ReplyDeleteDid Wilson Allen just admit that he was a stalker? I think so.
What difference does it make where her office was?
Wilson I know for a fact that you were on a trespass list for this very reason.
Wilson leave people alone you aren't helping anyone.
As Indyernie said "She is very strong willed and passionate about her work,"
ReplyDeleteAnd I will agree with that and it is a good thing when you are fighting a case. But If you are trying to get someone to work with you there very traits will work against you. That is why I think she is a bad choose for this role.
Nah -- I'd heard that her downtown law office had failed - I just wanted to doublecheck for myself. Sure enough, she'd moved out months ago even though she kept using that E. Market St. address on her websites. Kinda deceptive advertising but that's Darla for you!
ReplyDeleteWilson, you really need to back off. The difference between Ds and Rs is the fact that Rs take care of business and don't support the ethically challenged as you do. Bart and all stood with Monroe and it was part of their downfall. If there is a bad apple, we want it taken care of and move on.
ReplyDeleteI'll know the wheels have fallen off the Ballard bus, when he uses Jocelyn Tandy for anything official.
ReplyDeleteI saw her delivering absentee ballots to the polls Tuesday as a commissioner.
Yikes. Scarier in person than she used to be.
Darla may or may not be a good choice for this transition team. But the team is loaded with old-time insiders, and I thought that was what Greg said he'd be against.
Just sayin.'
(Wilson, did you really go searching for Darla's law firm whilst walking downtown? And you had no legal business to conduct? You can find any licensed professional's current mailing address on the state website. You're taking a personal vendetta just a little far. I'm gonna start calling you Mr. Bates.)
If a person is irresponsible with their own finances, personal or professional, then they would not be a part of my team if I were Mayor.
ReplyDeleteWhy?
I cannot afford the liability and neither can my constituents.
That's what credit reports are for.
Greg Ballard is already using the ethically challenged with Ike Randolph and Darla Williams...I am not sure but Brizzi may not be far behind in the ethics shortcomings...we Democrats lost because we allowed the ethically challenged to operate and did not police our own....it seems Ballard is starting out ..with that same philosophy.
ReplyDelete"Gary, we recognize your attempts to scale this down to one (1) black on the team and to cause dissention among us which won't work, that Willie Lynch trick is old, we don't fall for that in 2007."
ReplyDeleteI will repeat myself. I didn't say Darla should not be on the transition team. I merely stated she was not suited for the role of serving as liaison to the Mayor's office. There is no attempt on my part to limit participation by AAs on the transition team. Don't try to turn this into an issue of race.
ANON 10:54 the mayor cant use failed businesses or persoanl finances as a barometer since he has not been prudent in his own personal businesses and finances.
ReplyDelete"I will repeat myself. I didn't say Darla should not be on the transition team. I merely stated she was not suited for the role of serving as liaison to the Mayor's office."
ReplyDeleteGary I disagree.
The Mayor's office is pushing through city contracts to friends of the Mayor. This will burden Ballard for years this needs to stop.
We need someone strong willed in every phase of this transition. We need someone not afraid to speak their mind. We need someone who is willing to go nose to nose for the Ballard team. Darla is the right person for this position.
Bart will be out in time, I say lets lessen the burden to the city as much as we can.
What contracts? Be specific.
ReplyDeleteIndyernie, Darla should not be the LIASON. She has ZERO people skills. Again, if I wanted someone to fight for me (in this case contract) fine, but she likes to fight, she has no finess, no diplomacy.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be this idea that there are only a few people who understand government. There are many people available who are not utilized and are not ethically challenged.
ReplyDeleteI think that the examples posted by anonymous 11:05 pm indicate how unimaginative the Indianapolis process is.

SOS - 1105 pm? The person who talked about transition? Please be specific.
ReplyDeleteI've had the good fortune to get to know Darla a little bit over the past couple months, mostly running into her at the tax protests/forums. She has always impressed me with her integrity and straightforwardness.
ReplyDeleteHaving her as the liaison is a good choice, as it shows the other team that Ballard won't accept any funny business. Any attempts to play games with city contracts during this transition will be called out, as Darla has proven her willingness to take tough stands.
ANONYMOUS SAYS,I would walk softly with some of the TRANSITION TEAM,POLITICS as always.I would be checking everyone on this team, politics will never change just like give what I want or look out.what is in it for me.just ask some of the past MAYORS,a good person either plays ball or your ball will be taken away, and you will look bad.....with the taxpayers that is how the game is played the games have began
