Minor Launches Bid To Unseat Donnelly

A 39-year-old, disabled Iraqi War veteran has thrown his hat into the ring to challenge U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly in Indiana's 2nd District. Chris Minor opened his campaign describing himself as a "very staunch conservative" who wanted to replace House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with U.S. Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), who he described as "the pride and joy of the conservative movement." Pence "lives and breathes Christian values we all respect," Minor told James Wensits of the South Bend Tribune. Wensits describes Minor as "a retired U.S. Army captain who continues serving in Iraq as an intelligence analyst for the State Department."

Wensits challenged Minor on his push for more spending on the Iraqi War at the same time he was criticizing Congress for spending like drunken sailors. "Asked to reconcile the cost of the troop increase with his desire to reduce government spending, Minor said that the military is a necessary function of government," Wensits writes. "You find the means to pay for it," Minor said, whether that means borrowing or whether it means a reduction in other spending.

I don't suspect the war in Iraq is any more popular up in the 2nd District than it is anywhere else, unless you work for Hummer. It looks like Minor is going to have a tough sale against Donnelly. He's also going to have to raise a lot of money. Donnelly has managed to raised more money than all but a handful of incumbent members of Congress.

Who's running the RCCC these days? In a district where the President is at 28%, you run to the RIGHT of Bush?

IF he gained two points a month until Nov. 08, which in political circles, is monumental, he'd achieve a dead heat.

    What an idiot.

  2. Only thing worse than the President's approval rating is the Congress' approval rating.

Nancy Pelosi's Congress is a colossal failure. Though Donnelly votes with Pelosi most of the time like most DemocRAT lap dogs, he does have enough "Blue Dog" in him to stay in, unfortunately.

    Subject: The "LETTER"

    A little boy
wanted $100.00 very badly and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened
    ....

    Then
he decided to write God a letter requesting the $100.00.

When The postal authorities received the letter to God , USA ,
they decided to send it to the Mayor of Indianapolis.

The Mayor was so amused that he instructed his secretary to
send the little boy a $ 5.00 bill.

The Mayor thought this would appear to be a lot of money

    to a little boy.

The little boy was delighted with the $5.00 bill and sat down to
    write a thank-you
    note to God, which read:

    Dear

God: Thank you very much for sending the money. However, I noticed that
    for
some reason you sent it through Indianapolis, Indiana and those JERKS deducted $95.00 in taxes.

A common phenomonon across America is: hate Congress, love my Congressman. It's old as the hills, Hail. Not terribly consistent, perhaps, but true.

And Joe Donnelly is a great Congressman.

    Nancy's a failure, huh?

LOL Keep dreamin'. See ya in Nov. 080.

    Wow. Mike Pence as Speaker.

    I'm not ready for that.

  6. The moonbats and other assorted k00ks are riled up because the candidates they supported in 2006 won't support their call for an "overthrow" of the executive branch, namely the groundless impeachment of Vice President Cheney and President Bush. From what rumblings I read the k00ks are threatening to take out the Democrats they don't like in the primaries or stay home and let the candidates which they once supported go down in defeat.

  7. "Mike Pence as Speaker"

Actually I think since he is minority leader you'll see Boehner as the speaker for the 111th Congress when we regain the majority.

  8. and Speaker Boehner will ride in on the back of a flying hog...

    A Harley-Davidson with wings. That'll work.

Mike Pence will never rise in leadership, after his dingbat comment regarding Iraqi marketplaces and Indiana county fairs.

I don't know what "rumblings" you're referring to, Hail, but just FYI: Hannity does not qualify as credible. And sadly, neither does Rush any more. I kinda liked Rush sometimes, but the oxycontyn and self-important attitude finally did him in this week.

You heard it here first: Speaker Pelosi will remain such after next year's election. By perhaps a wider margin.

But your analysis of 06's election and the mood among Democrats was amusing.
