Ballard has proposed an increase in the food and beverage tax, the alcohol tax and the adoption of a regional sales tax. He supports continuing the county wheel tax and excise tax. The has supported raising scores of taxes and fees in the city. The list of his fax and fee increases is over 100 now.

And how about reckless spending proposals like No-So and giving the Pacers $33.5 million of taxpayer money.

The notion that he can run on fiscal responsibility shows how out of the loop his political people. The people who dislike Ballard the most in the Republican Party are fiscal conservatives who supported hime.Paul K. He said he would not make the same mistake so many other big cities had made by driving up taxes and the cost of doing business to the point to encourage flight to the suburbs. His actions in 2007 were a complete reversal of policy. He believed Ballard was such a weak candidate, he could get by with it. Ballard, like Peterson, is going to have plenty of campaign dough to spend touting his message, but it won't make a difference in the end. The people who need to know already know and aren't going to be fooled again. Many people who say they support the job he is doing as mayor have no intention of voting for him. The people he thinks are his friends today are not. That will become abundantly clear over the next year.Gary R. I'd not forgotten it and have been eagerly awaiting SOMEONE to republish it.

I wish Tim could get in the Mayor's office. Then we'd finally have some integrity in that chair.Downtown Indyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06239811599722585898noreply@blogger.com
