This th...Yeah, but let's keep our eye on the ball. This thing is still in play. What Bauer said today was aimed at his own members on second reading amendment as much as the voting public. He has now made them realize that voting to reinstate this language during the second reading amendment, which many like Peggy Welch would do, would mean they have personally embarassed him. You don't get away with doing that to the Speaker.

Thanks AFA for the South Bend ad. You just made a wily Speaker mad enough to call your bluff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12703782.post-83011230910392343722007-03-30T08:02:00.000-05:002007-03-30T08:02:00.000-05:00OK, this is a classic whizzing match. If the Hershm...OK, this is a classic whizzing match.

If the Hershman/Eric Miller forces want to play hardball, and the Speaker holds the line on removal of the second paragraph, it wont' go through.

Because the 2008 session is stil in this biennium, can't they try agian next year?

None of this was necessary if Bauer had held the line against any vote. Stupid political decision on his part, but he looks like he's trying to hold the line for us now.

In this whizzing match, if all the cards stay the way they're dealt now, I'll take Bauer. Herchman is a rank amatuer legislative baron.

I'd rather slay the dragon than wound him. A madder Herchman-Miler alliance in 2008 could be even worse.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
