Having been brought to the US at the age of 15 and now with a spouse and children who are US citizens, he has more than one legal avenue to remain in the US. Sexton's attorneys cannot reasonably argue that deportation is imminent, or a given, or it is not the intent of Escamilla to reside with his family in the US. Nonetheless Sexton would like compensation based upon Escamilla permanently residing in Mexico even though still having a US family to support. <br />Escamilla's representatives were correct in trying to avoid turning a tort case into a prejudicial immigration battle, before a jury, as accomplished by Sexton's lawyers.
