Attorney General Steve Carter's office immediately jumped to protect Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter's office when accused of ghost employment, despite substantial evidence that it was taking place. You would think that the AG's office would have first investigated the accusation before leaping to using taxpayer dollars to defending possible Lake County corruption. Nope.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08899023066910200507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12703782.post-77868858108770423782008-06-01T14:46:00.000-05:002008-06-01T14:46:00.000-05:00daltonsbriefsYour argument makes no sense as it is...daltonsbriefs

Your argument makes no sense as it is the large law firms the state hires when they go for outside legal work. If the attorney general is ignoring other matters, it make the large firms more money and probably more importantly more influence. Generally this results in the state paying thousands more than they would if they hired smaller firms who could do just as good a job.Mann Law, P.C.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10803791946039037861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12703782.post-55452490218120085892008-06-01T12:23:00.000-05:002008-06-01T12:23:00.000-05:00"What makes Byrne's observation intriguing, howeve..."What makes Byrne's observation intriguing, however, is a reason I've heard from several sources as to why several of the state's largest law firms are backing Costas over Zoeller. These firms are said to be unhappy with Steve Carter's office for pursuing a RICO action for the past several years against high-ranking East Chicago officials. I'm told they fear Zoeller will continue the litigation strategies started by Carter for combating public corruption if he succeeds him to the office."

The corruption runs so much deeper than Lake County and the Pastricks. It has everything to do with a certain Indiana Senator and riverboat license payoffs. You might recognize him as the one on the short leash being led around by one of the presidential candidates when they were campaigning here in Indiana.rudyclayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00402538575803934167noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12703782.post-39135548392078974592008-06-01T07:51:00.000-05:002008-06-01T07:51:00.000-05:00You leave out another possibility in your inferenc...You leave out another possibility in your inference that law firms and the statewide office holders are wanting to reign in the AG and let more crime take place in Lake County.

What if these statewide office holders and law firms feel that Steve Carter and his deputy have done a poor job? What if they feel the press release lawsuits aren't handling the issue, just getting some positive press?

I've heard that many state offices are hiring their own attorneys becuase the AG office is for some reason falling behind or taking care of "other" things. Maybe just maybe Greg Zoeller's brand of running the office feels too much like the brand that isn't working right now.daltonsbriefshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10848952073180198356noreply@blogger.com
