Is it true that Tom John, GOP conty chair, said on WIBC (Garrison) that he, John is running for Congress??

  2. I had not heard that. Abdul hasn't reported on it so it must not be true.

I hope Tom John DOES run. That'll give JoAnn Sanders a better chance

Tom ROSE was on Garrison discussing his bid for Congress.

His priorites: Constitutional amendments to ban gay marraige and abortion.

Elrod also was on. Garrison challenged him on marriage amendment and he got off a good one to the (twice? thrice?) divorced Garrison: Something like "Frankly I don't like it that the government tells me marriage only has to last as long as I want it to. But I think the government should stay out of it. It's more of a libertarian position..."

Why are you letting the Democrats run this poll? :)

I woulda voted for Greg Porter - but I think Orentlicher will work very well.

It's possible that it's my computer's browser, but as happened the last time the figures coming up in your poll are not readable of David Orentlicher and one other. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have cigarettes, food vouchers, and a bottle of "bumpy face" for you IF the person we tell you to vote for, wins!

My vote and I have one in the caucus will be going to Andre Carson.

  10. Not to worry. It happens with my web browser as well when I try to look at the results. It should still be tabulating the results. It just sometimes doesn't load up when you open your web browser.

Vote for anyone BUT Andre Carson. Johnny Carson would do a better job.

Did anyone else file on the GOP side before the close of business today, Gary?

As a caucus member I cannot in good faith place my vote for Andre. With my background and experience I will be voting for Sanders.

    Advance Indiana,
Are you going to tell us what you think will happen on Saturday?

    I DID, I DID!!!

  16. I have no idea whether anyone else filed today. The GOP still isn't acknowledging a caucus will take place on either the state or county GOP websites. If the party doesn't care about winning the seat, why should I?

You know, I might just have to vote D for the special election....

  18. As to what will happen on Saturday, I have to assume Andre started this race with more votes than any of the other candidates. Greg Porter's decision to stay out of the race probably helps Andre. Aside from Andre, I would think David O has assembled more votes than any of the other candidates. Those two are likely to be the two finalists. If David O knows he can't beat Andre, his supporters might join a Stop Andre effort and go with a compromise candidate for the special election to weaken Andre's hand going into the May primary. Perhaps someone like Pollard would become the compromise candidate.

If you vote with your heart, you will vote for Andre Carson. If you elect to vote with your mind, you will vote for Jeffery White. He is the only candidate with results. I like Dr. O but he has not proven anything. Mays wants to police what goes on in my house and every time I look at my property tax bill, I think about Rodman. Pollard would look great in a $2000 suit representing people who make 20k a year. I am voting for the educator. At least he provides me some hope on getting results.

If andre's votes aren't there as expected, expect the African-American vote to Pollard. He's a black man white people can feel good about.

I visited John Marshall to talk to Mr. White. I had to wait ten minutes because he was talking to a parent. He was wearing a pair of crocs and a v-neck sweather. I looked like a classy middle class educator. He can talk your ears off about issues. After meeting him, he gets my vote. He is a nerd so he will do fine is Washington.

I suspect most of the Democratic committeepersons aren't interested in supporting someone who ran against Peterson in last year's Democrtic mayoral primary.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Tony Knight ran against Peterson in the primary. I think he might be an educator, but he's not Jeffery White. Are you confusing the two, anon. 8:19?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Now that I think about it, the ever-lovely and ever-losing Jocelyn Tandy ran against Bart
Peterson in the Democratic primary in 1999. Needless to say, she was skunked and promptly crossed the street to the Republicans. You're welcome to her!

We David O people will not throw our support to Pollard, I can assure you of that. Sanders or Rodman would more likly. But I do not think it will happen as David will be the last one standing.

7:34, or educator White's mother, whatever:

    Are you stoned?

Educator White has shown results? His pass rate has doubled--to something like 41%. Now there's a rate to be proud of. Geeeeesh. His school is still on the state watch list. As are many in IPS.

A vote for Andre is a vote with your heart? Seriously?

And your tax bills make you mad at Mike Rodman? You DO know, don't you, that he only sends them? Assessors assess your property, and other governmental units compile budgets.

Good Lord Gary we may need to conduct a basic civics lesson here.

Hey Dumpster Diver, get a life. You are quite the spokesman for Andre. You are the reason Andre shouldn't be anywhere. He can't control the lunatic fringe that surrounds him.

March 11 I'm picking up a D ballot and going to have some fun.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Dear anonymous nobody: Gary definitely needs to give a basic civics lesson here. March 11th there will be only one non-partisan ballot. On that ballot you can vote for a the Democratic candidate, the GOP candidate and maybe the Libertarian or an Independent candidate.

With your attitude, on March 11 I hope you throw a hissy snit and demand the "D ballot" so that the poll workers will have fun themselves and giggle at such an uninformed fool...

Saturday will be a sad day in our fine city if Andre is selected. Go Rep. Mays!

Hi, I'm volunteering for Pollard (and for the record, I voted ONCE in this poll - I'm sure whoever is runnings this can check my IP address and confirm that)
I just wanted to say to the person who commented on Randle Pollards "$2000 suits" that I DO make $22,000 a year. And yet here I am volunteering for him because he talked to me and I really like what he had to say.

Isn't March 11 the Special Election? If so, there is no partisan ballot to pick up. It's not a primary election.

I hope it isn't the Marion Co. clerk, otherwise the poll won't work!!

Randle Pollard is not the choice of grassroots whites or blacks. He is the choice of Ice Miller and Ice Miller alone...............

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous8:42 AM EST

If he is the choice of Ice, why have they threatened to fire him?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous1:47 PM EST

Reportedly Lacy Johnson wants Pollard GONE from Ice either way for this stunt.

Guess we'll see what kind of juice Lacy has left, I guess.

  37. Anonymous5:40 PM EST

Its mean to fire someone for running for public office. What's the point in that?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous5:55 PM EST

Possibly the best choice we can seat is someone who has not sworn
to serve a constituency until a successor is elected or otherwise qualified. Placing the burden of recruitment and making a suitable replacement upon the people who get out the vote more often than it has been is making the job of Precinct Committee Person even more difficult .

Maybe I need a cocktail, but I read the 5:55 post four times and I don't get it.

Someone please interpret. It's too late in the day and the week to understand jibberish.

    (Is that Olgen Williams posting?)

LOL. I think maximuse was saying "let's elect a caretaker and have the REAL choice in the primary in May so we precinct committee folks don't have to deal with so much heat".

Folks, I've already voted...with my feet. You can have your crime, your incompetence, your high taxes and your low quality services.

Oh, that's right. You have a new football stadium. That must mean "all is well."
